UPDATE 11.5.15: "The New York attorney general has begun a sweeping investigation of Exxon Mobil to determine whether the company lied to the public about the risks of climate change or to investors about how those risks might hurt the oil business." -New York Times

A groundbreaking investigation by InsideClimate News has revealed that Exxon has known about the dangers of climate change since 1977.

Exxon's plan when its own scientists learned of the "potentially catastrophic" impacts of climate change? A decades-long strategy of calculated deception during which it buried the evidence to help its profits at the expense of the planet.

Lying to the public to protect profits at the expense of health and safety is very illegal — just ask the tobacco industry. In fact, Sharon Eubanks, a former top tobacco prosecutor, recently supported the legal basis for an investigation into Exxon's wrongdoing. She's not alone: over 25 members of Congress have also called on the U.S. Attorney General to launch an investigation, along with prominent scientists, activists like Bill McKibben, Sen. Bernie Sanders, and just yesterday, Hillary Clinton.

Don't let the momentum building against Exxon die down — add your voice now to build public outcry for an investigation to ensure this glaring deception gets the justice it deserves.
